Relationship Therapy
IFS-Informed Approach
This work supports you in understanding what’s happening inside you and between you, so you can move forward with more clarity, choice, and connection.
Together, we focus on how each of your internal experiences shapes the relationship—and how those patterns can begin to shift.
This work can support:
Deepening connection
Gaining clarity about the relationship
Format & Structure
Relationship work is offered in two formats:
Intensives
4-hour blocks
Most people meet 2–6 times (8–24 hours total)
Scheduled on consecutive days or spaced out
Ongoing Sessions
90-minute sessions
Designed to create enough space to slow down, track patterns, and work in depth
Some people begin with an intensive and continue with ongoing sessions.
We’ll collaborate on a structure that best supports your goals.
Who This Work Is For
This may be a good fit if:
You find yourselves caught in repeating patterns that are hard to shift
You want to understand what’s happening beneath conflict and disconnection
You want support in navigating complex emotions within the relationship
You are seeking clarity about how to move forward together
You’re looking for a depth-oriented approach that helps you make sense of your experience
For Therapists and Clinicians
I work with many therapists and clinicians who come into this work with their partner, not as professionals, but as people within their own relationship.
This may resonate if you:
Want to experience IFS-informed relationship work from the inside
Notice your own parts showing up strongly in your relationship
Find that insight and clinical knowledge don’t always translate into personal moments
Want support navigating the complexity of being both a therapist and a partner
Are interested in doing deep, experiential work together, not just talking about patterns
This work creates space to experience what it’s like to be:
In your own system
In relationship with your partner
And supported in understanding both at the same time
For many therapists, this becomes a place where things shift in ways that don’t happen through insight alone.
Our Focus IN RELATIONSHIP COUNSELING
We focus on the moment-to-moment experience of being in a relationship.
This includes:
The internal experience each person is having
The meaning your system makes of each other’s behavior
The patterns that repeat over time
How each of you responds when something gets activated
As we track these patterns together, new options begin to emerge.
How We Understand What’s Happening Between You
Each of you is responding to what your system perceives and expects.
The same moment can be experienced in very different ways, depending on what each of you is carrying internally.
In this work, we slow things down to understand:
What each of you experienced internally
How those experiences shaped your responses
From there, we support the development of:
Staying present while activated
Allowing yourself to be seen
Understanding your partner while staying connected to yourself
In sessions, we:
Slow down the interaction
Track what’s happening in real time
Work directly with internal experiences and parts
Support each person in staying connected while engaged in the process
What Develops Through This Work
Over time, this work supports:
Understanding
Clearer awareness of your internal responses
Insight into patterns that shape the relationship
Capacity
Staying present during activation
Being seen without shutting down or escalating
Remaining connected while having your own experience
This creates more space for choice in how you respond, rather than feeling pulled into the same reactions.
Clarity About the Relationship
This work supports clarity about how the relationship is functioning and what is possible within it.
Outcomes may include:
Strengthening and deepening the connection
Greater understanding of each other
Clarity about differences or incompatibilities
More intentional decision-making about next steps
